Yesterday was an eye-opening trip for me.
I was supposed to go to Parkway Parade early in the morning to check out the shops. But My mum needed my help to cook dinner for us. So I did. Then I watched the VCD of Phyne Ballerz. When I first heard the melodious voice of Billy, my heart just melted. His soothing and baritone voice just made the starting of the song sound so perfect. Billy!! My heart melted already.. later its gonna evaporate!! wah!!
But anyway.. BAck to the subject. I went out of the house ard 12.30 pm.. and I was late (again!) Haix.. I went out 1 hr early but is still late.. Reached Jurong Mrt at 1 pm, Aljunied at 1.30 pm, and Bedok at 1.40 pm. I waited for the shuttle bus till 2.15.. then I gave up and took a cab, seeing the group of gurls taking a cab as well.
It was lucky that I took one, coz my hubby was growing a bit impatient waiting for me. When he msged me, I just reached the PArkway Parade. it was 2.30 pm. Gosh.. 2 hours time wasted just like that.
I called him up, and he mentioned that he was in MPH, a giant bookstore. So I walked up one storey, then recalled that it was located on the ground floor. So I went to the customer service office and asked for directions. She said to go straight and go down 1 floor and turn left. I didn't ask her on which direction to go, but I went ahead to go straight and down the stairs.
All I could see is the NTUC Fairprice, so I just went back again to the mid point of the shopping mall. I managed to find a directory, so I checked out where I was at. The MPH was just behind me, so I scanned out the entrance area.
No Faisal in sight, and I searched for him. He was wearing the only Levi's jeans pair he has, and the green bowling t-shirt he bought in KL trip. He was reading the billard book and I went to stand beside him.
"Harlow.."
He nodded in acknowledgement, and checked out my attire.
"Wow.. nice jeans you got! New ones?"
"Yup. Went to buy them with Hajjar."
I was dressed in black that day.. My new black hipster jeans, my new black flats, my black polo tee, earrings that I just bought along with the necklace with Hajjar, my diesel watch. I wore light makeup with blusher to make myself look healthier. The only thing I didn't wear is my necklace.. coz when I wore the matching necklace, it just didn't sit well with my outfit.
I checked out the books, apparently I didn't have the interest to browse thru them.. Coz I have this need to drink. Gosh.. so thirsty. we were out of this place in a matter of seconds. We headed to the escalator, and out of PArkway Parade.
"What's up with the workplace?" He asked.
"Later can talk ar.. I'm thirsty." I declared.
I followed him to the Macdonalds. and bought myself a can of lemon lime juice.
We walked towards the undepass to East Coast.
"Just now I waited for the shuttle bus. So long!" I commented.
"What time since you waited for the bus?"
"1.45 pm till 2.15 pm. I gave up and took a cab instead."
"What time you go out of the house?"
"12.30 pm"
He went quiet.
" 12.30 pm go out, 1 pm reach Jurong, 1.30 pm reached Aljunied and 1.40 reached Bedok."
" Just now I felt giddy. You know the plastic board where we can lean against near the door? I was standing there from Jurong till Aljunied. So when the train reached Aljunied, I felt really tired. then my vision began to become sensitive to the sunlight. It began to blur into static mode, little bits of pieces fading away. It happened twice. I really cannot tahan and squatted on the floor until I reached Bedok."
"I guess there's not enough oxygen going to my brain." I shook my head, and began to sip my drink.
" I think that's what happens when I stand too long." I added.
He slipped his fingers through mine, holding my fingers with a protectively firm grip.
We chatted, about his training in Archery, and the upcoming tournament in 17, 18 June 2005. Then I knew he practically got training almost everyday.. and got sunburnt on his forehead. We chatted about the class chalet, the SC chalet.. He mentioned about the way he went back and fro from his house and the chalet. Poor thing, how he got the stamina to endure this I also dunno.
We arrived at East Coast, enjoying the breeze from the sea. I felt a calm feeling seep through me, and I brightened up. We just walked, and I felt a couple of blisters at the back of my feet begin to haunt me. When we finally chose a bench to sit down and rest. I released my feet, and found my left foot having a big blister. That's what happens when u wear new shoes on the big day. Haix..
I took out the maroon folder from my bag, and showed him my baby album, my NPCC album, my makeover pix and my teacher's day pix. He chose to see the certs. My kindergarden cert, the K1 report card, my outstanding cert about my technical studies when I was in Normal Technical. I mentioned to him about my first semester, having graduated to Normal Tech to Normal Academic.
I opened the package of vegetable soup that me and my mum cooked together with me, which happens to be my fave food. Vegetables, with fishcakes, taufu, and with my all time fave chicken soup.
He browsed through the albums. My NPCC album. I showed him the picture of Juraimi, the guy in NPCC that I was really into. Amir, Juraimi, Farhan and the other guy who was in Express. My senior, Heng Swee and other people whom I loved dearly. He saw my makeover album. Hubby flipped through it and was so disappointed when it ended.
"That's all??!!"
"Yeah.. That's it."
"How much you pay for this?"
I thought for a while and answered $58 with promo.
"When you take this?"
"January 2004."
"They straightened your hair?"
"Yeah.. Eh? I can't remember.."
After finished going through the albums,he browsed through the makeover album again. I think he couldn't believe the makeover pics that I took. Guess it shocked him a lot. heehee..
He paused for a while and popped the question again.
"What's up with the workplace?"
I talked about the events, the conflicts, the problem that I had. And the result? I have to find out the next day. THen i told the family problem to him. My burden is released from my shoulders.
He listened to me, asking questions to let me continue talking. Wen I stopped,I paused. He chatted about other things, just to take my mind off that matter. I glanced at him, then leant my head against the crook of his shoulder.
Silence. Enjoyed the sea breeze. He casually mentioned that he wanted to go to the Jetty. I told him around 4 pm we should head off. But now, I wanted to rest. He told me that he used to go with Fatul with his dad to fish.. and mentioned that Fatul had a nature call. So the joke is that when he did his business, his dad yelled at him for chasing the fish away and even made them die.
I chuckled so hard when I heard this.
He noticed our ring around my finger and forgot to wear it. But he held the ring to show that he's still wearing it. He told me even he bathed he still wear it.. and it became rusty. it touched my heart again.
So finally head straight for the jetty.. and took an hour to complete the journey on foot. Along the way, I asked him several times when are we going to reach it. Soo long.. Once I even asked him in a playful manner to carry me along. and he added that
I have to carry him. So I asked him again. No answer.
When we finally reached our destination, he said that we did exercise and completed 2.4 KM on foot. Gosh so tired.. >.< I glanced at the jetty. It was so big and wide, and there's lots of people on it. People even camped there. several families tried fishing. We went towards the end, and sat down on the bench. We watched some people fish. and it grew hot for us.
15 minutes later, we headed to the bench near the seaside.. and sat down. Faisal took off without his slippers and went to the seaside. I felt really tired from all the walking, so later, i plopped down to another bench and closed my eyes. I'm not sure how long I slept, and my vision became blur when I finally woke up.
Watched a couple of chinese guys playing with a huge log of wood. If I am not wrong, they also played something with the sand. One of them sat on the beach, not noticing that his pants were halfway down, and showing to the public his underwear. I mentioned to Hubby I felt really tempted to go over and pull up his shorts. Again, he chuckled.
Spotted a couple of joggers exercising along the beach. There's one ang moh who jogged and wore a singlet and shorts. But what attracted my attention was he was SOOO hairy. Hair was everywhere. and Hubby commented he wonder his reaction if he waxed off his hair. We burst into laughter.
THen it was my turn to stare into the ocean. I stood there for a long time, enduringthe piercing pain that shot through my feet as the seawater washed my feet. In the corner of my eye, I spotted 4 guys diving from the jetty. I just looked at them, and what they did was so fascinating to me. Swimming around, and fooling with each other. Actually 6 malay guys just having their fun. They noticed me looking at them and started playing to catch my attention when I turned back to the bench. One carried the other.. the One sitting yelled out something disgusting and fell backwards, laughing.
They played some games among themselves. Finally, the last one sitting on the bench decided to join them. His friend went up to him and finally he changed. He didn't dive, just went over to the end and joined them.
They played some games. They stood in a line and held each other's shoulders. The last one was to swim through their legs and the others spread their legs apart. We chuckled at their reaction when they felt something ticklish and yelled out loud their feelings. Like my sista said, they put in a show for me.
LAter, they held a competition to show who can swim the furtherest. The interesting thing, One swim with his hands moving slow but his feet bashed the waters so fast. It was clear that he didn't know how to swim. He swam for a while.. and then stopped.
I was laughing and shaking my head.
Next, he swum.. but he headed slightly to the left. When he stood up, he was standing near the beach. I actually laughed nonstop after that. There were a couple of times when they looked in our direction, and I guess one of them spotted me smiling and laughing.
Next, the third one swum in the
opposite direction! We laughed out loud.
"the victim is dying on one side but he swim in the other direction." he enmphatised this with the movement of his hands.
the 4th one was okay..
The 5th one was steady. He really know how to swim. Cool and steady, this plump guy swum straight and slow. He was a clear winner in that case.
The last one? Haha.. I cannot stop chuckling as I relate to this. The guy swum.. with all the characteristics of the rest. Swimming with his hands slow but his feet thrashing the waters, he headed to the beach and stopped. He stood up and shook in his head in confusion. Worse still, his friends bastard him by not staying in their spots.. Went backwards silently while their friend continued swimming!!
"Mana aku? (Where am I?)" He questioned out loud.
I was hyterical with giggles when I heard that.
"Haha.. Like this cannot be a lifeguard already." I commented.
We continued laughing.
We enjoyed the entertainment they provided for us. Later, Faisal wrapped his arm around my back and rested his hand on my abdomen. They stared at us while I leant my head against his shoulder. Disappointment showed on their faces. They were surprised that I was attached to Faisal. They looked at us for a long while, unable to accept the fact.
We went home after that.. Bought a drink and chips to munch along the way. Faisal let me wear his slippers while he walked barefooted. I was hurting from my blisters. so we walked a way out of the East Coast. Once we reached the road, I asked him repeatedly to wear his slippers. He refused. He wouldn't let me switch shoes! Along the highway, across the road.. in front of cars and motocycles. He spotted a bus stop. When we finally reached it, we switched.
I was so grateful for what he did for me. I'm not sure whether I said my thanks or not to him but I hope I did.
We boarded the bus 10 to go to Tampines Mall. Along the journey, I massaged his left palm. and He looked at me with amusement. Only when I tell him I'm massaging him the, he understood. I switched hands.
We laced our fingers together, and he played with my fingers. Soon, it was time to alight the bus. He informed me 3 bus stops before and I went to search for the card holder. He wanted to take a look at the makeover album again.
He flipped through and asked if he could have one.
I also asked him about his pix. He let me choose which one to give to him.. But I found it a bit wasteful just to give like that.
"Why didn't you laminate the pix?"
I took the card size and slid it to his wallet. It was done. i could have developed another pic for myself.
When we reached Tampines bus interchange, I plopped down the stairs and was actually limping when I tried to walk. Finally I just stepped on the back of the flats and walked. I was getting very blur at that time.. So when he stopped in front of Perlini's Slver, I just went ahead, not registering what he said. So he pulled me back and I remembered what I wanted to do. Polish the necklace.
We went around TAmpines MAll, and spotted quite a few NS men hanging out also. Soon, it wa time for us to go home.
Overall, when I think about it again.. I was quite touched over what he did..
